Google Talk Available for all
Google Talk is no longer available only for Gmail users as earlier and it is now available for all.A quick look at its set of features seems promising, yet we wonder if it will really dominate over other messengers such as Yahoo or a MSN.
Here’s are Google Talk’s set of features apart from easier installation than before.
(From webpronews.com)
Features
• free and crystal clear voice calls to your friends and family anywhere in the world
• transfer files and folders to others
• free voicemail messages
• IM from your BlackBerry
Interesting, but from what I can see and read thus far,the IM users wont quite be shifting to Google Talk yet,but it may actually happen and this move is a step in the right direction. Here’s the link to Google Talk if you want to try it out.
Google Earth or Wikimapia?
Recently Ive had this craze to find a bit more about the geography of the earth, where exactly I live and so on.
A quick look at the web lead me to two useful softwares that could allow me to do the same,Google Earth and Wikimapia.I started off with Google Earth as it had the big tag of Google along with it.I found it reasonably good but not with enough detail.I couldnt even find my street name, forget my home.I thought this as obvious as it wasnt possible to put in every street name and home of every city, town and village in the world.
However on trying out Wikimapia,I was pleasantly surprised. It had absolutely everything from my home,my university,my favorite store and what not.
Google Earth is however growing and this news seems to back that up.
Id like you guys to make your own minds up on both Google Earth and Wikimapia as some of you might find the former better.Maybe some of you might find something better than both these, but Im not getting my hopes up.Chao.
