Google Talk Available for all
Google Talk is no longer available only for Gmail users as earlier and it is now available for all.A quick look at its set of features seems promising, yet we wonder if it will really dominate over other messengers such as Yahoo or a MSN.
Here’s are Google Talk’s set of features apart from easier installation than before.
(From webpronews.com)
Features
• free and crystal clear voice calls to your friends and family anywhere in the world
• transfer files and folders to others
• free voicemail messages
• IM from your BlackBerry
Interesting, but from what I can see and read thus far,the IM users wont quite be shifting to Google Talk yet,but it may actually happen and this move is a step in the right direction. Here’s the link to Google Talk if you want to try it out.
Too many strikers at Liverpool?

Liverpool have been back in good form off late, with wins over Newcastle,Tottenham and Galatasaray(hopefully Ive spelt them correctly :p).But in every game we are seeing a different strike pairing and a natural goal scorer like Robbie Fowler is still to feature prominently in the squad. So Im starting to wonder:Are Liverpool having too many options up front?
Someone like Peter Crouch who did so well in the previous game now, could well be dropped to the Bench against Bolton. Not exactly great for the guy’s confidence now is it.The advantage of all this is obviously that incase of an injury crisis with forwards, there will be sufficient backup. But something thats starting to occupy my mind is,could we be seeing one of these strikers leaving in the mid season transfer period?Only time will tell.
What gets your Goat ?
There are many things which we see during a game of Cricket that really bugs us or in other words,”gets our goat”.These may be simple things such as our favorite players not performing well enough on a given day to complex matters such as the recent ball tampering incident which was blown out of proportion.
But if I was asked this question,my answer would be slightly different.Every time I see the presentation ceremony after a game,it somewhat gets my goat. You might be wondering why Im so bothered with the presentation ceremony when there are so many other issues on field during the actual play itself or other offfield issues.
My thoughts are that players who spend so much of their time and energy during the game for their team are deserving of a better amount as prize awards especially in the International Scenario.Just have a look at other sports, the difference in prize money is quite staggering. Also take into consideration a big tournament such as the World Cup with so much money made by the crowds watching the games,I dont think that the Man Of the Series in a tournament as big as this even gets a small share of the revenue generated during the event, although
the situation has improved over the past couple of years.Dont you think that the ICC and the sponsors of tournaments should be providing a slightly better amount for the cricketers as well deserved awards for their performances?

Lets hear what you all think of this and also what gets your goat apart from the one’s Ive mentioned, whether it be too few teams playing the game or the sledging aspect in a “Gentelman’s game”.
Ebook Revolution or just hype?
Sony plans on releasing a new device called the Sony Reader capable to storing around 80 ebooks at a time.It has been designed to easily read through the books and manage them,so its being comapared to the Ipod but for books.

(Picture from telegraph.co.uk)
From what Ive heard so far these would be my set of pros and cons on this new technology.
PROS:
a)Easy to manage books, you can carry around 80+ books, something which wouldnt be physically possible.
b)Easy to read books,it woudnt hurt your eyes and would almost be similar to actually reading the book.
c)A variety of books would be available from Sony’s Connect website,so almost any ebook that we wish to read would be available.
CONS
a)Availability:Its supposedly to be out soon in the USA but it would be interesting to see when it actually reaches the rest of the world, specially Asia and Europe.
b)Cost:Costing at 350$,youd seem to wonder if its all worth it when you can just buy books and read them like you always do.
c)The device would run on batteries, although its being said to have a long lifetime before you recharge them,it would be interesting to see if they are a nuisance or not.
Overall I would say its a great technology, but like everything else,it needs time before we can truly get used to it.
Corruption in English Football
Ever since BBC released their TV programme Panorama, there seems to be an unrest among managers in the game.Im happy that all of this has finally been revealed,I think this has been long happening in the English game and people have got away with it several times.Hopefully all these incidents will finally stop such cheating in the game, although its not as serious an issue as the one we saw in Italian Football recently.BBC however seem to be at a loss with clubs forbiding to do exclusive interviews with the channel after all of all.Just what BBC deserve after uncovering the truth.
Here are some interesting articles that I found as interesting reads. Also would like to hear the reader’s opinions on this issue.
Google Earth or Wikimapia?
Recently Ive had this craze to find a bit more about the geography of the earth, where exactly I live and so on.
A quick look at the web lead me to two useful softwares that could allow me to do the same,Google Earth and Wikimapia.I started off with Google Earth as it had the big tag of Google along with it.I found it reasonably good but not with enough detail.I couldnt even find my street name, forget my home.I thought this as obvious as it wasnt possible to put in every street name and home of every city, town and village in the world.
However on trying out Wikimapia,I was pleasantly surprised. It had absolutely everything from my home,my university,my favorite store and what not.
Google Earth is however growing and this news seems to back that up.
Id like you guys to make your own minds up on both Google Earth and Wikimapia as some of you might find the former better.Maybe some of you might find something better than both these, but Im not getting my hopes up.Chao.
